About Wine With BBQ
Welcome to Wine With BBQ—where smoked meat meets good wine.
I’ve been a wine lover for over 20 years. But a few years ago, I found a new passion: barbecue. Low and slow. Smoke rings and spice rubs. Brisket, ribs, pork shoulder—you name it, I wanted to learn how to make it.
As I got more into smoking meat, I started wondering: can wine actually go with barbecue?
The answer? Yes. In fact, the right wine can take your barbecue meal to a whole new level.
That’s how Wine With BBQ began. This blog is where I explore how to pair wine with barbecue in a way that’s simple, flavorful, and fun. Whether you’re sipping Cabernet with brisket or trying a chilled red with pulled pork, I’m here to share real-world wine pairing tips for everyday backyard cooks.
More importantly, I’m here to show you why wine is a perfect pairing with our favorite style of cuisine. If you thought BBQ was a beer food, brother… hold my beer. No. Scratch that. Hold your own beer. NO! Put DOWN the beer and pick up a glass of wine, and let’s discover the awesomeness that is wine with BBQ.
You don’t need to be a sommelier or a pitmaster to get more out of your meal. If you enjoy BBQ and love a good glass of wine, you’re in the right place.
